PIG - end of year party

It's June so that means end of year party time!

Chantal has generously invited us to celebrate the fete at her house - contact me for the address and directions.

Fun starts around 16h, this Wednesday June 18. Bring your gouter and swimming kit.

There's much to celebrate - the end of a fun year with new faces joining us and old ones moving on. I have to say I feel very emotional about this, after all 5 years ago when I started PIG I didn't know if this was worthwhile or if it would work. But it's been wonderful, I've made some terrific friends and I know that long friendships have started thanks to PIG. I doubt I shall be able to keep away but from September Lulu-PIG will be taking the reigns.

I've often been asked why I haven't tried to make PIG earn money for me. This is not the point of PIG. It's about meeting people on an informal basis, without feeling obliged, without having to stress about insurance and delivering a 'product'. Now that PIG is with Outbound there's the membership fee of a piffling 25euros. But that let's us use the MPT on a regular basis and avoid trashing our homes every time it rains.

The best PIGs are where the children are happy together playing (in English even sometimes) and us parents get to hang out over a cup of coffee and just relax for once. There's little time for that in our busy lives, so let's enjoy it. Long may PIG continue!
