I bet you didn't know that there are 250 varieties of courge? I bet you didn't know that the harmless cucumber is related to the pumpkin which is related to that loofah you use in the bath? Get yourself and the children along to the Agropolis Museum for their current show of all things courge-related.
There are workshops for older children but enough to keep a 4 year old happy - can you see one that looks like a giraffe type of thing! If not there are whole theme days like 30 September with Courge-music, 15 October Courge-flavours and on 31 October - Halloween - there are spooky-courge workshops. How can you resist the courge attraction? I've been once and plan to take the little pumpkin head child again.
If not there's the annual Fete de la Courge at St Jean de Vedas on 22 October (I think), which is free and jam packed with courge food, courge tastings, courge workshops.... and a coffee stall too, phew! See you there courge fans.
